A SUCCESS STORY : JIGME KINLEY SHARES HIS STORY:-:

Jigme Kinley is one of the successful  graduating students in the carving section. Jigme is from a village called Mertsham from Tashigang district. His father is a farmer and his mother is a housewife. He has one younger brother. Jigme studied till class eight in Tashigang. He does not come from a wealthy family and when he saw the financial problems and hardship his parents face he decided to discontinue his studies to support his parents. He helped his parents in the field for one and half years. He was not happy and blamed his fate seeing unending hardship in the family. One fine day when he was listening to the radio he heard about CTAS and immediately wanted to join the school, realizing that this would provide him better opportunities for himself as well as support for his family.

He discussed this opportunity with his parents and they were very happy for him. With very little knowledge he headed towards Thimphu for the first time.  His mind was full of questions and doubts as he was heading to an unknown place with only strangers, seeking a better opportunities in life.

Today Jigme is an examplary student and we are very proud of him.  He has worked very hard with utmost sincerity and dedication in acquiring new skills and knowledge, making him a fine craftsman.  Right after his graduation, he was hired to work for a private furniture company for a good salary. He is an inspiration for the other students.

Convinced that joining CTAS was the right decision, Jigme wished that his junior friends feel the same on the eve of their graduation.
