The main mission of CTAS is to grow gradually into a full-fledged competitive boarding school, which provides a completely free education in skills related to traditional arts and crafts of the country to the unfortunate youth of Bhutan. The school aims to be capable of accommodating more than 100 students, both male and female. Up until now, the female students could not be admitted due to lack of separate facilities for them. Moreover the number of female applicants are not expected to be high since these skills are traditionally more popular with men than women. CTAS believes that by strictly ensuring that the levels of training are

of the highest quality, it can contribute positively to promotion of traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan. The school finally aims to be able to produce graduates every year who are, themselves, qualified for more opportunities and gainful employment.
